Iran: Obama fishing in troubled waters

Iran's president says the difference between the Bush administration and the Obama White House is that the former caused 'bloodshed' while the latter seeks to 'profit' from it.
"An individual assumes power for eight years, kills over a million people, raises refugee numbers by the millions and shatters the global economy. Then he [simply] steps down and nothing happens," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in Tehran on Sunday.
"His successor says he was wrong, but when you ask where he went wrong he says: The mistake was failing to benefit from murder," Ahmadinejad added, in an apparent reference to US President Barack Obama and his predecessor George W. Bush.
The Iraq war is widely considered to be one of the failures of the previous US administration.
Independent sources such as the British polling agency, Opinion Research Business, estimate that well over a million Iraqis have been killed since the beginning of the 2003 US invasion.
President Ahmadinejad and other senior Iranian officials have on various occasions said that Obama's campaign promise of change is hollow as the US has shown no real change with respect to its Middle East policy.
This is while in Iraq there is talk of a prolonged US military stay in the capital Baghdad and the city of Mosul, past the deadline set in the security agreement between Baghdad and Washington.
News of a possible decision to revive the military commission system for prosecuting terrorism suspects at the notorious Guantanamo Bay prison also indicates that Obama may be poised to backtrack on more of his promises.
