Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani says the Islamic Republic is ready to share oil industry technology for the construction of refineries and in the area of petrochemicals with Republic of the Congo.

“Joint cooperation can help the Congo to make significant progress in the oil technology and related industries, such as the construction of oil refineries and the petrochemicals [industry],”‌ Larijani said in a meeting with First Vice President of the National Assembly of the Congo René-Dambert Ndouane in Brazzaville on Saturday.

He noted that the expansion of Tehran-Brazzaville parliamentary ties can facilitate further enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries.

“The Congo is of great importance to Iran and we would like the relations between the two countries to improve to a higher level and we appreciate the support shown by the country (the Republic of the Congo) for the Islamic Republic of Iran,”‌ Larijani added.

The Iranian Majlis Speaker further noted that Iran and the Republic of the Congo can cooperate in the mining sector and the construction of bridges.

Ndouane, for his part, thanked the Iranian delegation headed by Larijani for its visit to Brazzaville and stressed the need for further expansion of relations between Iran and his country.

He also praised Iran’s experience in the field of legislature, expressing Congo’s willingness to make use of such experience.
