The 2010 edition of Morocco’s International Documentary Festival (FIDADOC) has awarded Absence of Mr. or Mrs. B directed by two Iranian filmmakers.

The 72-minute production of Fima Emami and Reza Daryanoush received the Grand Jury Award of the event held from November 9-13, 2010.

Produced by Iran’s Experimental and Documentary Film Center (EDFC), Absence of Mr. or Mrs. B revisits the story of an infertile couple’s life and the challenges they face.

The Moroccan festival’s Best Film award went to Chemo by polish documentary maker Pawel Lozinski.

Twelve feature-length documentaries competed at this year’s FIDADOC to be awarded by the event’s five-member jury, who included Carmen Guarini, Pedro Pimenta, Marianne Dumoulin, Maya Abdul-Malak and Lahcen Zinoun.

Absence of Mr. or Mrs. B has been screened at numerous national and international events such as Canada’s 2010 Hot Docs International Film Festival.

The film has won the grand prize of Iran’s third Cinema Verite International Documentary Film Festival as well as the Crystal Simorgh of the Reality Eye section of the 28th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.
