Make the people’s life easier, Leader tells cabinet

supreme leader

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has advised the Ahmadinejad administration to make life easier for the people and to make serious efforts to achieve the goals of the 20-Year Outlook Plan.

“The Outlook Plan is the country’s 20-year roadmap, which was carefully formulated based on the realities (on the ground),” the Leader told President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his cabinet during a meeting on Monday.

The Leader also said the seditious movement that arose after the 2009 presidential election undermined the country’s efforts to make progress and encouraged the enemy.

“This sedition inflicted serious damage on the process of work and progress in the country and enheartened the enemy,” he noted.

However, through the grace of God, the nation and the government, by their resistance, succeeded in putting things back on track, Ayatollah Khamenei stated.

Noting that five years had passed since the start of the 20-Year Outlook Plan (2005-2025), he said there should be a serious investigation to determine what has been done over the past five years to ascertain how to achieve the goals within the projected time periods.

The Supreme Leader also said that the Majlis must avoid making major changes to the five-year development plans presented by the administration.

However, the Leader insisted that the administration should not think that the plans that it draws up are “unchangeable” or that they should be immune from “criticism”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader said the administration should act in a way that would encourage the private sector to embark on large investment projects.

He also advised against parallel activities in various areas, including foreign policy, and said ministers should be trusted to fulfill their mandates.
