Chicago biennial to display posters by Iranian graphic artists

Posters by six Iranian graphic designers will be put on display during the 2nd Chicago International Poster Biennial (CIPBA) in late summer.

Homa Delvaray, Farhad Fozuni, Aria Kasaii, Peyman Purhossein, Siamak Purjabbar, and Rambod Vala have been announced as the finalists on the CIPBA website.

Works by over 100 graphic artists from other countries will also be showcased during the event.

A jury led by the American graphic designer Paula Scher has selected the finalists.

Takashi Akiyama (Japan), François Caspar (France), Emek Golan (USA), Marta Granados (Colombia), Holger Matthies (Germany), and Rafal Olbinski (USA/Poland) are the members of the jury.

The CIPBA is open to all artists and designers of posters worldwide that were printed and published from 2008 to 2010.

One gold medal and two silver medals of excellence will be awarded. In addition, the Society of Typographic Arts (STA) Medal will be awarded to one poster for typographic excellence and the Project Osmosis Medal will be given to one poster exhibiting excellence in a social theme.
