در یك كلمه می توان گفت Visual Studio .NET بسیار بیشتر از یك نرم افزار است.
در واقع Visual Studio .NET ابزاری است جهت ایجاد یك حركت انقلابی بنام.NET
حتماٌ بخوانید( دات نت). شاید بتوان گفت شركت مایكروسافت تمام ایده آلهای دیجیتالی شدن ، را در پروژه دات نت خود گنجانده است. و به زبان ساده Visual Studio .NET ابزاری است برای رسیدن به این اهداف. دوست خوبم حتما سری به سایت http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio بزنید. مطمئناٌ جواب اكثر سئوالهای خود را پیدا خواهید كرد. ولی برای اینكه سئوال شما بدون پاسخ نباشد، باید بگویم خود شركت مایكروسافت در تشریح Visual Studio .NET اینطور میگوید:
