دوست من اول اینكه كاربرد limit در نوشتار و گفتار بیش از دو لغت دیگر است. لغت confine هم بیشتر در نوشتار كاربرد دارد تا گفتار. limit بیشتر به عنوان اسم كاربرد دارد و به معنی حد بالایی یك فرد یا یك شی است كه عبور و تجاوز از آن ممكن نیست یا توانایی آن وجود ندارد و restrict به معنای نگاه داشتن یك چیز در محدوده از پیش تعیین شده است. confine نیز به معنی محبوس كردن است.این دو كلمه بر خلاف limit فعل هستند.

Limit refers principally to the establishment of a maximum beyond which a person or thing cannot or may not go: The Constitution limits the Presidents term of office to four years.
