Ahmadinejad still open to West's 'extended hand'
Vowing to follow his policies of the past four years, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he would welcome a hand extended in justice and with respect from the West.
In his victory speech on Sunday, the Iranian president addressed the West and said, “If a hand is extended to the Iranian nation, in (the spirit of) justice and respect, it would be welcomed.”
President Ahmadinejad was reelected to office on Friday.
In what he called “a message to abroad”, President Ahmadinejad said that the days when a few countries decided the affairs of the word were over. “Now is the era of reason and justice.”
President Ahmadinejad went on to promise that his second term would be dedicated to “development and progress in the fields of science, industry and economy.”
