Iranians show massive turnout in polls
Minutes before opening of the tenth presidential elections, a large crowd of people gathered in polling stations across the country to cast their votes in ballot boxes.
Chairman of the Central Election Commission Kamran Daneshju described participation of people across the country in the tenth presidential elections as massive and said if necessary the time of voting will be extended.
According to IRIB report, in Jami Street, Tehran, people gathered in Shisheh mosque from early hours of morning to cast their votes.
Executive and supervisory officials are present at the poling stations to strictly supervise the election process. The Constitutional Guardian Council reported that 3 to 7 supervisors will oversee the balloting at each polling station.
More than eight hundreds of domestic and foreign reporters are reporting the massive participation of Iranians in the tenth presidential elections to the world.
Another report from the Husseinieh Ershad north of Tehran said from early moments of voting hundreds of people came to the station to select their president.
At the first hour of voting, reporters described participation of Iranian youth in the tenth presidential elections as enthusiastic.
