S. Korean ambassador acknowledges( Jewel in the Palace )dubbers

TEHRAN - South Korea’s ambassador to Iran Kim Young-Moke paid tribute to the Iranian dubbers of the South Korean TV series “Jewel in the Palace” during a ceremony on November 20.

The dubbing team was headed by Zohreh Shokufandeh and included Minu Ghaznavi, Manuchehr Valizadeh, Maryam Sigarudi, Reza Aftabi and Sharareh Hazrati.

“You have familiarized the Iranian nation with the ancient culture of Korea,” Young-Moke said during the ceremony.

He mentioned that Iran and Korea have some common cultural roots.

“Jewel in the Palace” centers round the character of Jang-geum (played by Yeong-ae Lee), the first female royal physician of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. The series highlights Jang-geum’s perseverance. It also portrays traditional Korean culture, including its royal court cuisine and medicine.

The series was originally produced by the South Korean TV channel MBC in 2003 and was enjoyed by audiences in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
