Brunei along with other members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the film, “Innocence of Muslims”, which has been widely spread through the social media, especially YouTube, recently and expressed deep regret over the film which openly denigrates the Prophet Muhammad, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
The film has sparked outrage and led to enmity and violence in the Muslim world and jeopardize the feeling of respect, harmony and fostering of good relationship in the global community.
Brunei called for all its Muslim citizens and residents not to be influenced by the incidence and not to take actions that could disrupt public harmony and cause damage to property and endanger human life, which are against Islamic teachings.
It also called for its citizens and residents, especially the users of the new media, not to spread matters of similar kind.
