Police in Oregon have arrested at least 30 peaceful 'Occupy' protesters, dragging and carrying them to waiting vans, after they refused to leave a park in an affluent district.

According to CNN, the arrests came after protesters from the 'Occupy Portland' movement refused to leave a park in northwest Portland on Sunday.

On Saturday afternoon, dozens of protesters marched through the Pearl District, some of them carrying sleeping bags, saying they planned to camp out in the park.

The 'Occupy' movement, emerged after a group of people on September 17 rallied in New York's financial district under the name Occupy Wall Street, to protest against top-level corruption, poverty as well as social inequality in the US.
