film

Iranian filmmaker Peyman Nahanghodrati’s Snow Mothers is slated to participate in the 2011 edition of Della Lessinia Film Festival in Italy.

Produced by Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the short film will compete in the event’s Children’s Mountains category.

Snow Mothers recounts the story of a girl who tries to save a lamb and find a new mother for it.

Della Lessinia Film Festival is the only Italian cinematographic competition dedicated exclusively to short films, documentaries, and full length features about the life, history and traditions of the mountains.

The festival also holds special events, retrospectives, international guests, exhibitions, meetings, debates, concerts and other activities concerning the life, history, and traditions of the mountains.

This year’s Della Lessinia Film Festival will open on August 20, with Cave of Forgotten Dreams, a 3D documentary by Werner Herzog.

Some 231 features, documentaries, shorts, and animated films from 40 countries have been submitted to the festival.
