Iranian films to compete in Italy filmfest

Two short films by Iranian directors are set to compete in the 2011 edition of the I’VE SEEN FILMS International Film Festival in Milan, Italy.

Yahya Qadamgahi’s Ball and the Alley and Narges Abyar’s Lion Wearers will take part in this year’s event along with films from more than 15 countries.

The international jury members of the 2011 I’VE SEEN FILMS include Giacomo Arrigoni (Italy), Bill Bristow (UK), Joan Chen (China), Maurizio Nichetti (Italy), Charlotte Rampling (UK), Miranda Richardson (UK), Robert Rodriguez (US), Francesca Sassoli (Italy), Ridley Scott (UK), Paul Verhoeven (the Netherlands) and Rutger Hauer (the Netherlands).

Founded by Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, I’VE SEEN FILMS aims to promote and unite filmmakers, offering them new exposure and fresh and innovative platforms of visibility, where they are able to face each other on the common ground of the film language.

Internet Audience can also watch and judge participating works by voting for them using a rating system of 1 to 10.

The best short film selected by the audience will be screened during the festival and the director will be awarded the Internet Audience ICFILMS Award by Rutger Hauer.

The 20 short films that obtain the highest score from the Internet audience will then be judged by the festival’s international jury, and receive the prestigious 20th Century Fox H. E. Internet Jury ICFILMS Award.
