Iran MP warns ME leaders on US plots
An Iranian lawmaker says Tehran backs the Middle East’s uprisings, suggesting that popular leaders of the revolutions be invited to Iran to be briefed on US conspiracies to divide revolutionaries.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran can invite popular leaders of the regional revolutions to brief them on the dimensions of a US plot to cause deviation in the popular uprisings in the region,” Vice-Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Esmail Kowsari was quoted by Mehr News Agency as saying.
The Iranian parliamentarian further pointed out that the commission renders its full support to the regional revolutions.
“The National Security [and Foreign Policy] Commission played a key role in the country’s diplomatic arena by issuing a statement in support of the popular uprisings in the region, taking a stance against efforts by regional dictators to crack down on and kill people, holding numerous meetings with Iran’s Foreign Ministry and stressing the need for the government to take a clear stand vis-a-vis the regional developments,” he said.
Kowsari went on to say that the commission has already issued a statement in support of the regional revolutions, but intends to release a new one as well.
“In a recent meeting of the National Security commission and the foreign minister, it was decided that the National Security Commission release a statement in full support of the regional revolutions,” the Iranian legislator concluded.
