Larijani re-elected as Majlis Speaker
Ali Larijani has been re-elected as Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker for another one-year term after he managed to win the majority of the votes at Majlis’ presiding board election.
Larijani, uncontested at the election, received 212 votes out of the total 244 votes cast on Wednesday morning, Majlis news agency (ICANA) reported.
At the Wednesday election, lawmakers also voted for Mohammad Reza Bahonar and Seyyed Shahabeddin Sadr as the First and Second Vice Speakers of the Iranian Parliament for another one year.
The presiding board of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) includes 12 members, led by the Speaker.
