Asia, Europe to air Iran animation
A number of international companies have acquired the rights to screen and distribute Shekarestan, an Iranian animation directed by Babak Nazari.
According to producer of the animation Masoud Safavi, the interested companies are from France and Taiwan, Mehr News Agency reported.
Shekarestan will be dubbed into French and screened in 30 movie theaters in Paris, Safavi added, saying that an Arab film company has also acquired the right to dub and distribute the animation in several Arab countries.
Nazari’s animation tells a series of stories inspired by Iranian proverbs.
“I researched about Persian proverbs, anecdotes and stories for more than eight months to make Shekarestan,” explained the award-winning director.
Nazari has directed 90 episodes of Shekarestan, which have won him numerous national and international awards including the best animation award of the 27th Tehran International Short Film Festival.
