Iranian publishers to participate in London Book Fair

lbf

Iranian publishers will take part in the London Book Fair, which will run from April 11 to 13 at the Earls Court, London.

Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in London will have two stands at the exhibition where it will display books in English on different subjects including culture, art, religion and literature.

The books, mainly published by the Al- Hoda International Publication & Islamic Thought Foundation (ITF) and the Andisheh Foundation, will be available at the fair, Iran’s cultural attaché to London Ali-Mohammad Helmi told the Persian service of IRNA.

Brochures from Iranian publishers like Amirkabir, Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art Publications, and Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults will also be available at the stands, he said.

Some Iranian publishers will also attend the book fair independently and unfortunately, a number of them have not been able to obtain a visa, he lamented.

This fair is a great opportunity for Iranian publishers to get acquainted with foreign publishers and also attend meetings and workshops on the sidelines of the exhibit, he said.

The London Book Fair is an annual large-scale book-publishing trade fair. It has grown in size and importance in recent years, and 23,000 publishers, booksellers, literary agents, librarians, media and industry suppliers from over 100 countries now attend the fair.
