'Region intolerant of US-led dictators'

iranian parliament (majlis) speaker ali larijani

Amid the ongoing mass anti-government protests in the Middle East, Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani says regional nations will not put up with dictators affiliated to the United State.

“Awakened people in the region will not tolerate US-led dictators anymore,” said Larijani in a meeting with the visiting Bolivian President of the Chamber of Deputies Hector Arce in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Tuesday.

The top Iranian official hailed the recent developments in the region as “significant and revolutionary,” and emphasized that these events would change the world equations and turn them into international relations, Majlis news agency (ICANA) reported.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and convergence among independent countries and pointed out, “Economic cooperation and political consultations among independent countries should be developed in international circles.”

The Iranian Majlis speaker urged independent countries to make use of their great potential to “further affect the ongoing developments” and emphasized that Iran and revolutionary countries in Latin America should deepen their cooperation.

The Bolivian speaker, for his part, said the two countries enjoy common stands on many international developments and issues, particularly the US ambitions.

Arce further added that his country attaches importance to bolstering amicable relations with the Islamic Republic.

The Bolivian parliament speaker arrived in Tehran on Tuesday at the head of a delegation for an official four-day visit at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.

He is scheduled to discuss ways to improve Tehran-La Paz relations with senior Iranian officials.
