Photographer recalls childhood memories with junk car photos
Iranian photographer Majid Mehrabi is reviving his childhood memories by holding a photo exhibition of old model cars.
Entitled “Junk”, the exhibit is displaying twelve photos at the Café Gallery of the Iranshahr Hall at the Iranian Artists Forum.
He has taken the photos over the past year. Each photo is priced at US$300 and five photos have sold already, he told the Persian service of Mehr News Agency on Sunday.
“I took some photos previously and some of my friends suggested the idea of holding an exhibition. The exhibit depicts memories of cars that were once new and now have become junk with passage of time,” he mentioned.
He went on to say that he edited the photos and manipulated their colors in order to make them “revived”. “I want to make photos perpetual by use of lively colors.”
“I have other collections I haven’t completed yet. Most of the photos are of ordinary people in their everyday lives whose feelings are vividly manifested in their photos,” he concluded.
