Persian gardens will invite visitors to take a rest at the 12th Venice Biennale of Architecture running from August 29 to November 21.

This is the first time Iran will be taking part in the biennale of architecture.

A collection of pictures depicting five famous Persian gardens will go on show at the permanent pavilion located at Palazzo Malipiero, San Marco 3198.

Five gardens of “Shahzadeh” in Mahan, “Fin” in Kashan, “Dowlatabad” in Yazd, “Chehel-Sotun” in Isfahan and “Narenjestan” in Shiraz will flourish at the biennial.

Roberto Rosolen, an official of the festival, met with Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) Director Mahmud Shaluii in May at the biennial’s headquarters in Venice where he invited the museum’s representatives to attend the event.

Also on the show will be a conceptual design by Iranian architecture Mojtaba Kalhor who is collaborating as Iran’s curator of the exhibit, Shaluii told.

All around the world, tourists’ attention has been drawn to Persian gardens and their travelogues contain much information about the architecture of Persian gardens, he remarked.

“Each country will offer different programs during the three-month event. Iran will also be holding several workshops, discussion panels, and screening docs on Persian gardens,” Shaluii added.

Over sixty countries are attending this year’s event some of which are Russia, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Malaysia, China and Hungary.

Persian gardens depict an image of heaven where old memoirs of different Iranian ethnic nationalities lie.
