The Ahvaz Art Bureau plans to screen “Molf-e Gand”, a single-sequence documentary on the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, for the visually impaired at the Bahman Cinema on August 25.

“Regarding the creative its structure, the film can be imagined and the pictures understood by the words used for narrating the movie,” bureau director Sadeq Avaz-zadeh told ISNA on Friday.

Directed by Mahmud Rahmani, “Molf-e Gand” is a story narrated by Ahvazi citizen Mohammad Qadirzadeh about his childhood memories of the Iran-Iraq war and his strong sixth sense, known as molf-e gand in the local Ahvazi dialect, using his eloquent power of expression to paint vivid verbal images.

Mohammad portrayed voices, bombings and events which dated back to his childhood during the lengthy film, Avaz-zadeh mentioned.

Most films and documentaries made about the Iran-Iraq war show what occurred on the front lines. However, this film portrays the resistance of border cities during the war which has not received much consideration, he added.

The documentary, distributed by Sheherzad Media International, premiered globally at the Munich International Documentary Film Festival 2010.

Two short films “Gagola”, “Oha” and two documentaries “White Oil” and “Zero Degree Orbit” are among Rahmani’s other credits.
