Children’s books illustrators to commemorate Nasrin Khosravi
The Iranian Association of Children’s Books Illustrators will commemorate the recently deceased illustrator Nasrin Khosravi.
The ceremony will be held at the Imam Ali (AS) Religious Arts Museum in July with the exact date to be announced later, the director of the association’s executive committee Hossein Nazari told the Persian service of Mehr News Agency.
Nasrin Khosravi died in Canada on April 23, 2010. She was 60.
Khosravi was born in 1950 in Tehran and was a graduate in graphic design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran, the Persian service of Fars reported.
She began her artistic career in her 20’s, working on book illustrations, frescoes, and teaching art at the university.
Among her other activities, she illustrated over 28 books, and held joint and solo exhibits in Iran and other countries.
She was awarded several national and international prizes and honorary diplomas, and also received the Medal of Honor at Noma Concours for Picture Book Illustrations in 1994.
Illustrating the book “A New Life” written by Rukhsana Khan was also among her credits.
“A New Life” is a children’s novella about a young girl’s experience as an immigrant. This book is a trade version of “Rukhsana’s Coming to Canada” which was commissioned by the Canadian government and is distributed to each immigrant child who enters Canada.
