I found the knowledge of people in four (things) firstly , that you know your lord (recognition of Allah) & secondly that you know it as to what factors He made use of in creating you , & thirdly that you know as to what does he want & intend from you & fourthly that you learn what is it that will expell you from your religion. (AYAN U SHIA (New Edition) VOL 2 , P 9)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) وَجَدْتُ عِلْمَ النّاسِ في اَرْبَعَ: اوَّلُها اَنْ تَعْرِفَ رَبَّكَ وَ الثّانِيَهٌ اَنْ تَعْرِفَ ما صَنَعَ بِكَ وَ الثّالِثَهٌ اَنْ تَعْرِفَ ما اَرادَ مِنْكَ وَالرّابِعَهٌ اَنْ تَعْرِفَ ما يُخْرِجُكَ عَنْ دينِكَ ( اعيان الشيعه ( الطبع الجديد)ج2 ص9)
Indeed , there are two arguments & proofs from Allah for the people.1. The conspicuous & apparant arguments.2. The esoteric & intrinsic argument (proof) None theless , apparent authorities are the Prophets , apostles & messengers & the Imams(A.S.) However , the esoteric (ones) so these are the (human) intellects (minds). (BIHARUL ANWAR , VOL I , P 137)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) اِنَّ لِلِه عَلَي النّاس حُجَّتَيْنِ: حُجَّةُ ظاهِرَةً وَ حّجَّةً باطِنَةً ، فَامَّا الظّاهِرَة فَالرُّسُلُ وَ اْلانْبِياءُ وَ اْ لاَئِمَّةُ عَلَيْهِم السَّلامُ : وَ اَمَا الْباطِنَةُ فَاْلعُقُولُ (بحار الانوار ج1ص137)
Hisham! verily , Luqman said to his son " , Adopt humility & humbleness for the right (Allah) you will become the intellectual most of the people , Oh son! World is a deep & profound ocean. Already lot many of the world creations have emersed & sunk into it. So make Piety your ship in it (to sail out safely) & make the faith its cargo & putting trust in Allah its sails & intellect (mind & wits) its sailer (guide & captain) & knowledge its guide & patience its passengers (on board). (TUHFUL AQOOL , P 386)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) يا هِشامُ اِنَّ لُقُمانَ قالَ لِابْنِهِ : تَواضَعْ لِلْحَقِ تَكُنْ اَعْقَلَ النّاسِ يا بُنَيَّ انَّ الدُّنْيا بَحْرٌ عَميقٌ قَدْ غَرَقَ فيهِ عالَمٌ كَثيرٌ فَلْتَكُنْ سَفينَتُكَ فيها تَقْوَي اللهِ وَحَشُوهَا الايمانَ وَ شِراعُهَا التَّوكُّلَ وَ قَيِّمُهَا الْعَقْل وَ دَليلُهَا الْعِلْمَ وَ سُكّانُها الصَّبْرَ ( تحف العقول ص386)
Comprehend & understand the religion of Allah , for jurispudence is the key to vision & the completion of worship & the cause of reaching the lofty grades & magnanimous stations in the world & here after.And the superiority & magnanimity of jurispudent over the adorer & worshiper is like that of the superiority of sun to the stars. And Allah does not get pleased with (accept) any practice of that person who does not achieve the comprehension & understanding of his religion. (BIHARUL ANWAR , VOL 78 , P 321)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) تَفَقَّهُوا في دينِ اللهِ فِانَّ الْفِقْهَ مِفْتاحُ الْبَصيرَهِ وَ تَمامُ الْعِبادَةِ وَالسَّبَبَ اِلي الْمَنازِلِ الرَّفيعَةِ وَ الرُّتَبِ الْجَليلَةِ في الدّينِ وِ الدّنيا وَ فَضْلُ الْفَقيهِ الْعابِدِ كَفَضْلِِ الْشَمْسِ عَلَي الْكَواكِبْ وَ مَنّ لَمْ يَتَفَقَهُ فِي دينِهِ لَمْ يَرْضِ اللهِ لَهُ عَمَلاً. (بحار الانوار ج78ص321)
Put in endevour & excercise effort that your time is scheduled into four hours (parts).An hour (part of it) for the suplication to Allah & an hour (an other part) of it for the affairs of economy & livelihood & still another hour (part of it) for social contacts with the brothers & the persons of confidence who may let you learn your short commings & faults & they have a sincere interior (heart) for you.And a part of it in which you enjoy the unforbidden & lawful entertainments. And with this part of time you get the strength & vigour for the (rest of) three other (parts of) times. (TUHFUL AQOOL , P 409)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) اِجْتَهِدُوا فِي اَنْ يَكُونَ زَمانِكُمْ اَرْبَعَ ساعاتِ : ساعَةً لِمُناجاةِ اللهِ وَ ساعَةً لأَمْرِ الْمَعاشِ وَ ساعَةً لِمُعاشَرَةِ اْلإِخْوانّ وَ الْثِقاتِ الذينَ يُعَرِفُونَكُمْ عُيُوبِكُمْ وَ يَخْلِصُونَ لَكُمْ فِي الْباطِنِ وَ ساعَةً تَخْلُونَ فِيها لِلَذاتِكُمْ فِي غَيْر مُحَرَّمٍ وَبِهذِهِ الّّساعَةِ تَقْدِرُونَ عَلَي الْثَلاثِ ساعاتٍ. ( تحف العقول ص409)
Oh Hisham! a man is not faithful till such time that he gets fearful , (&) hopeful. And he will not become fearful(&) hopeful unless & untill he becomes the conjuror & doer of that which he fears & hopes ie (He practices according to the requirement & needs of the fear & hope). (TUHFUL AQOOL , P 395)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) ياهِشامُ لايَكونَ الْرَجُلَ مُؤْمِناً حَتي يَكُونَ خائِفاً راجِياً وَ لايَكُونَ خائِفاً راجِياً حَتَي يَكُونَ عامِلاً يَخافُ وَ يَرْجُو. ( تحف العقول ص395)
A man asked Imam Musa kazim(A.S.) " , The holywar & combat against which one of the enemies & foes is more obligatory?"The Imam(A.S.) reflected " , The nearest of them to you & those who are the most enemy & doing most of harm to you & their enemity be greatest & severest of all And their existance & is with their closeness & proximity to you , is most hidden & concealed from you. (BIHARUL ANWAR , VOL 78 , P 315)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) فَأَيَ اْلأَعْداءِ اَوْجَبَهُمْ مُجاهَدَةً ؟ قالَ عليه السلام: اَقْرَبَهُمْ اِلَيْكَ وَاَعْداهُمْ لَكَ وَ اَضَرُّهُمْ بِكَ وَ اَعْظَمَهُمْ لَكَ عَداوَةً وَ اَخْفاهُمْ لَكَ شَخْصاً مَعَ د ُنُوِّهِ مِنْكَ. (بحار الانوار ج78ص315)
Indeed , the greatest & biggest of all the people in worth & value is the person who does not consider the world a station & abode for himself more over , there is no price & worth of your bodies except the paradise , so , do not sell them without (achieving) it. (TUHFUL AQOOL , P 389)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) اِنْ اَعْظَم النّاسِ قَدْراً الَّذي لايَرَي الْدُّنْيا لِنَفْسِهِ خَطَراً اَما اَنَ اَبْدانَكُمْ لَيْسَ لَها ثَمَنٌ اِلا الْجَنَّةَ فَلا تَبِيعُوها بِغَيْرِها. ( تحف العقول ص389)
" , Oh Hisham! indeed the intelligent & witful one does not converse with the person who , he is afraid , would contradict & falsify him. And does not ask anything from a person who , he is afraid , would refuse him And he does not promise anyone a thing which he does not have the strength for , & does not desire & wish & hope for a thing over which he may be reprimanded & rebuked. And does not take steps towards anything about which he may be afraid that he would fail & become feeble , from achieving it. (TUHFUL AQOOL , P 390)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) يا هَشامُ اِنَ اْلعاقِلُ لا يَحْدِث مَنْ يَخافَ تَكْذيبَهُ وَ لا يَسأَلُ مِنْ يَخافَ مَنْعَهُ وَ لا يَعِدُ مالا يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ وَ لا يَرْجُو ما يُعَنَّفُ بِرَجائِهِ وَ لا يَتَقَدَمُ عَلي ما يَخافُ الْعَجْزُ عَنْهُ. ( تحف العقول ص390)
Bad is the person who has two faces & two tongues (double cross & hypocrite). He praises & commends his brother (in faith) in his presence & when he is absent he back bites & slanders him. If he achieves (some thing) he gets jealous of him & if he is afflicted he leaves & abandons him. (Does not help him) (TUHFUL AQOOL , P 395)(BIHARUL ANWAR , VOL 78 , P 310)
قال موسی کاظم (ع) بِئْسَ الْعَبْدِ عَبْدٌ يَكُونُ ذاوَجْهَيْن وَذَا لِسَانَيْن يُطْري اخاهُ اِذا شاهَدَهُ وَ يَأْكُلُهُ اِذا غابَ عَنْهُ اِنْ اُعْطِيَ حَسَدَهُ وَ اِنِ ابْتليَ خَذَلَهُ. (بحار الانوار ج78ص310) ( تحف العقول ص395)
